GG guys.

Overwatch sera un buy seguro para mi.

LotV and HoTS

It's been a while!

Wanted to make a quick post about the game I've been playing recently which is Blizzard's MOBA (although I heard they don't like the term) Heroes of the Storm (HotS, yes it abbreviates just as Heart of the Swarm).

It's really fun!! I think I still have a couple of beta keys left that I was given by blizzard when I got access to the beta. So, if anyone wants one of those feel free to leave a comment or email me.

I feel like team play it's more important in this game than it is in LoL, but hey, I haven't played nearly enough Legue to claim that it's true. It's just how it feels to me.

The map quests are too important and I feel that promotes a lot of team battles and movement through the map.

Also, on March 31st the closed beta for Legacy of the Void (the 3rd expansion for Starcraft II) was released, I still have no access to it but I sure as hell signed up as soon as I knew, I'll just keep my fingers crossed I guess.

I've been watching some games played by White-Ra and Rotterdam's stream and you can tell it's on a very early development stage, it seems way too unbalanced even to an amateur player like myself. But oh well, it's still a closed beta that will go on for most likely more than a year so who cares, I'm sure Blizzard will make it work.

Anyways, that would be it for now, it's nice to write here from time to time... I wonder what I'll be writing next time...

Hearthstone!....ing

Also, for the past 2 or 3 days I've been playing Hearthstone! which is the Blizzard's Warcraft based card game.

I was lucky enough to get a beta key for when it was in it's early days and I liked it ever since then but I stopped playing for a loooong time, long enough for people with a lot of dedication to become awfully good, still, it's really fun!

The whole thing is about making a deck based around a certain hero which is of a certain class (mage, warrior, paladin, hunter, assassin, etc...) obviously each class has it's own particular cards which adds a sense of balancing to the game, and then there's a lot of regular cards that any kind of hero can use.

In order to improve your deck you can  buy expert packs which carry 5 cards each and one of those will be of a "rare" or higher nature, "Legendary" being the most difficult to get of them all.

Anyways, I used to play a lot of yu-gi-oh! when it was a trend in my junior high and so playing hearthstone kinda reminds me of the old days, I enjoy it quite a bit.

If you haven't tried it you should give it a shot, it's very newcomer friendly and challenging for the expert players as well.

See ya around!

"Warriors" an e-sports music video

So this post is about old news.

I've played League of Legends a few times, I'm nowhere near being good at that game nor in love with it, but I do like it.

While I was browsing YouTube a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon the video that I will link here. When I first watched it I was amazed at how much dedication Riot puts into making quality off-game content for their audience, the animation quality is totally awesome.
Then I watched it again, and again and again like 5 times or something like that and I started to analyze the scenes and the meaning of the video and the lyrics of the song, I do not know if the characters in the video are based on real players/teams and I don't know if it's telling a real story either, but the bottom line is that, in my opinion, they made a fantastic tribute to all that means professional gaming.

I later learned that this was the video used to promote last year's tournament.

Enjoy!

Limit Break

Nvidia: ShadowPlay

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening to everyone

GeForce Logo
Today I'm gonna be writing about my brief experience testing Nvidia's ShadowPlay function that's integrated with the Nvidia GeForce Experience software. This function has been out there for a while now, less than a year though, and works when using a GTX 600M or newer video card series. Right now this option is at it's beta phase and a couple of months ago it was made usable only for desktop video cards (hence I couldn't use it since I own a notebook).

But then the latest driver came out! (335.23) And so it made possible for us notebook gamers to begin testing it too. And so I did.

I should let you know I own an ASUS Republic of Gamers Notebook, model G46-VW which comes equipped with a GTX 660M Nvidia VCard, Intel i5 4th Gen processor @ 2.4 GHz (I think), 8 Gb DDR3 RAM and 750 Gb HDD.

I ran a couple of tests first while playing Battlefield 3 to see if it would impact the performance and... I felt no difference, the game ran as it always does with ShadowPlay working in Shadow Mode, after some minutes I clicked the hotkeys used to save the recording and it did so.
I Alt+Tabbed to check it out and see the results and I was very very pleased, they are stunning! The audio, video and voice quality are excellent and it had it's promised 60fps.
However when I Alt+Tabbed back to BF ShadowPlay had closed, no idea why, when I opened it up again I could't make it work with BF or any other game as it showed it was disabled during gameplay. Only way I could make it work again was by restarting my computer.

User Interface of ShadowPlay

After that I made a second test, this time with Dust: An Elysian Tail. I had no issues while recording the test, however, something that wasn't recorded was the fact that nearing the 5 minutes of shadow mode the game began lagging very hard, that started happening just as I saved the shadow recording and so it is not in the video I will leave here, but exiting the game was kind of difficult due to this issue which I'm thinking might have something to do with the temporary files being created by ShadowPlay.

All info on ShadowPlay is on the link at the start of this post, it is really easy to use and it has a sleek and simple UI which I liked. I leave you for now with the recording I did yesterday for Dust: An Elysian Tail.
The commentary for the video it's in spanish, hope that doesn't matters too much, here's the link.

See ya later!

Weeeelcome~
